Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), founded by Amanullah Khan and Maqbool Butt, is a Kashmiri nationalist organization founded in Birmingham, UK on May 29, 1977. It is the most known organisation of Kashmiri patriots struggling for re-unification and complete independence of Jammu Kashmir State divided since 1947. JKLF seeks control of the whole Jammu Kashmir territory, as it existed prior to August 1947. JKLF ideology is based on nationalism and opposes the emergence of the territories into either Pakistan or India but rather want the divided Kashmir to reunite and become an independent democratic state. Maqbbol Butt was hanged by India in Tihar Jail Dehli on 11 February 1984. Amanullah Khan is the present Supreme Head of the organisation. MORE
